Spam Fried Rice

  • 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Large Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, finely minced
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger, finely minced
  • 1 Small Shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 Cup Spam, cut into ½ “ x ½ “ cubes
  • 2 Tbsp Umé by FlavurLust
  • 3 Cups Cooked Jasmine Rice
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • ½ Tbsp Fish Sauce
  • ¼ Tsp Sesame Oil
  • ¼ Cup Green Onion, finely sliced


  1. In a large pan, heat ½ the oil over medium high heat. Add the lightly beaten egg and cook scrambled just until it comes together. Don’t overcook it! Remove and reserve
  2. Add the rest of the oil and add the ginger, garlic, shallot and spam. Fry for 1-2 minutes or until the spam starts browning and the vegetables start softening
  3. Add the Umé by FlavurLust and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes
  4. Turn the heat to high and add the rice. Mix and incorporate the rice with the spam mixture stirring every so often to prevent burning
  5. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil and fish sauce and mix with the rice.
  6. Turn off the heat and add the egg and green onions. Gently incorporate
